DIAMOND DAYS
Play Ball!!! Join us for this unique opportunity transform pastime to passion as you partake in some of the best baseball on the planet. Your team will have an opportunity to play tournament level games with and against Cuban youth teams in the area, as well as attend games and meet players from the highly regarded Cuban leagues. Games will be played on regulation sized fields with full officiating crews under the standard rules for the age group of your team.
Baseball, or pelota, is as fundamental to Cuba as its famed rum and cigars and equally as prestigious. Cuba features prominently on the world stage having excelled in international competitions such as the Olympic Games, World Baseball Classic, Pan American Games and the IBAF World Cup. Introduced by students and American sailors in the mid 19th century, the sport has become a form of religion here, with fans flocking to see their local teams compete in the Cuban National Series and the Super Series (an all star league of sorts, with its own season).
Morning Arrival:
Upon arrival at Jose Marti International Airport, your private guide will meet you for a trouble-free beginning to your island adventure.
First off, we’ll take a bus tour of the local area, starting with the famous Plaza de la Revolución, a UNESCO designated World Heritage Site. Other stops include the iconic Malecon sea wall, the US Embassy and several Cuban neighborhoods to give you an overview of the area.
A delicious authentic Cuban welcome dinner awaits you at Chateau Blanc upon your return. Evening is open, but we recommend an early night for players in preparation for the next three days of baseball. Come join us at POSH for snacks, drinks and live music.
